Central Gaither School provides the following special programs:
R.S.P. (Resource Specialist Program) is to assist students with identified learning disabilities.
Speech Therapist screens for articulation, voice, hearing and language delays and schedules remedial sessions.
School Psychologist is available to test for and suggest solutions to learning or social problems of students. The school psychologist provides such services as achievement and ability testing, teacher and parent consultation. She/He also meets with students on an individual and group basis for support groups and counseling. All assessments and evaluations are done with parental knowledge and written consent.
School Nurse screens for vision, hearing, scoliosis, color vision (boys only), and is on campus 1 day a week.
The Sutter County Office of Education operates Special Day Classes at Central Gaither School for students that qualify as deaf or hard of hearing.
School counseling and guidance services are intended to provide support to students within the educational setting and usually focus on areas such as school adjustment, social skills, self-esteem, confidence, organizational skills related to learning difficulties and problem solving. Classroom guidance lessons will be provided throughout the year. Short-term individual and group counseling services are available with parent permission.
Club C.G. after school intervention and enrichment program. This program is available to all students. Enrollment forms will go home at the start of the school year.
